This pendant is carved from moose antler, a natural material formed through yearly growth cycles and known for its layered, organic structure. Each piece is shaped by hand, following the natural curve and density of the antler rather than forcing uniform form.
After carving, the surface is lightly polished and finished with wax, which keeps the material breathable and preserves its natural texture. Small variations in tone, faint grain shifts, and subtle porous areas remain visible and are part of the material itself.
Yggdrasil, the World Tree, is one of the most important symbols in Norse mythology. It is described in the Poetic Edda and Prose Edda as the axis of the cosmos, connecting the Nine Worlds. Its branches extend into the heavens while its roots reach deep into the realms of the dead and primordial waters.
In Viking-age symbolic tradition and later interpretations, Yggdrasil is associated with continuity, ancestral memory, and the cycle of life. It appears in both mythological storytelling and modern reconstruction of Norse spiritual imagery.
The pendant has a natural, slightly uneven surface due to the structure of antler, giving it a more organic feel compared to carved wood or metal pieces. It sits close to the body when worn and adapts subtly to light, showing warmer tones over time.
Each pendant is individually carved, so no two pieces are identical in shape or grain pattern.
