This metal amulet is crafted after the wolf-themed imagery found on the Torslunda Plates of Öland, Sweden (7th–10th century). These iconic pressed-metal plates depict elite warriors in ceremonial animal helmets — including the wolf, one of the most important creatures in Norse mythology.
Hand-cast in brass or pewter, the pendant carries the weight and texture of early medieval metalwork. Its design reflects the deep connection Vikings felt to wolves: creatures admired for loyalty, instinct, endurance, and their close links to the gods.

Ulfheðinn (plural: Ulfheðnar) – The Wolf Berserker
The Ulfheðnar were elite Norse warriors who fought in the spirit of the wolf. Their name comes from Old Norse ulfr (wolf) and heðinn (fur cloak). They were described in sagas as Odin’s chosen fighters, wearing wolf skins and entering battle in a state of controlled fury and ritual trance.
Unlike common berserkers associated with bears, Ulfheðnar symbolized discipline, loyalty to the war band, and predatory intelligence. They served as shock troops and royal bodyguards in the Viking Age.
