Hand-cast brass Lunula pendant with segmented yellow and green hot enamel inspired by early medieval crescent jewelry.

This Lunula pendant is based on early medieval crescent-shaped amulets worn across Slavic and Viking regions during the 10th–12th centuries. Such pendants are well documented in archaeological finds and were commonly used as personal ornaments.

The pendant is hand-cast in solid brass using the traditional beeswax (lost-wax) casting method. After casting, real yellow and green hot enamel is applied into separate segments and fired at high temperature. This process fuses the enamel directly to the metal, creating a durable, glass-like surface rather than a surface coating.

The segmented enamel design follows early decorative principles while adding contrast and depth. Yellow and green tones introduce brightness without overpowering the form, keeping the piece historically grounded and suitable for everyday wear. As with all hand-cast and hot-enameled work, natural variations in enamel texture and tone are expected.
