Hand-cast brass Lunula pendant with red and yellow hot enamel, inspired by early medieval Slavic and Viking finds.
This Lunula pendant follows early medieval crescent-moon forms known from Viking and Slavic territories between the 10th and 12th centuries. Such pendants were widely worn across Eastern and Northern Europe and are often associated with continuity, protection, and the lunar cycle.
The pendant is hand-cast in solid brass using traditional beeswax (lost-wax) casting. After casting, real hot enamel is applied into separate sections and fired at high temperature. This process fuses the enamel directly to the metal, creating a durable, glass-like surface rather than a surface coating.
The combination of red and yellow enamel reflects early medieval color traditions often seen in enamelled jewelry of the period. The open crescent shape keeps the design light, balanced, and suitable for everyday wear while remaining historically grounded.
Each piece shows slight variations in enamel texture and metal finish, which are natural results of hand casting and hot enameling.
