This Viking shield pendant is based on the round shield forms used throughout the Viking Age. Shields were everyday objects for warriors, carried in travel, battle, and ceremony, and their circular shape became a lasting visual symbol of protection and readiness.

The pendant is hand-cast in pewter using the traditional beeswax casting method, then finished with yellow-green enamel applied by hand. The enamel adds a muted, earthy tone that works naturally with the soft grey surface of pewter, without overpowering the form.

Compact and balanced in shape, the pendant reflects early medieval proportions rather than decorative fantasy styles. Small variations in surface and color are part of the casting and enameling process and make each piece slightly different.
