Hand-forged silver crescent pendant based on 10th–12th century Viking and Slavic Lunnitsa forms, reflecting a blend of pagan and early Christian traditions.

Hand-forged in sterling silver, this pendant follows the crescent-shaped Lunnitsa form found across Northern and Eastern Europe. The small cross detail reflects the transitional period in which these pieces appeared. Each piece is individually finished, with slight variations from handwork.

This pendant is based on the Lunnitsa type, a crescent form widely documented in finds from Scandinavia, the Baltic region, and Kyivan Rus during the 10th–12th centuries. The shape is kept close to known examples, without added ornament.

It is produced using a combination of traditional casting and hand forging. The surface is finished by hand, resulting in a natural, slightly varied texture rather than a uniform industrial finish.

On a chain, it sits flat and moves freely. The weight is balanced, making it easy to wear for long periods.

Each piece is made by hand; small differences in surface and form are part of the process.

About the Design
Lunnitsa pendants are commonly associated with women’s jewellery in early medieval contexts. The crescent form appears much earlier, while the addition of a cross reflects a period of cultural overlap between pre-Christian and Christian traditions.
