Ravens in Norse Tradition
Ravens held an important place in Viking Age culture and Norse mythology. The god Odin was accompanied by two ravens, Huginn (Thought) and Muninn (Memory), who travelled across the world and brought him news of what they had seen.
Ravens were also associated with battle, wisdom and Odin himself. Their images appeared in Viking Age art and symbolism, making them a meaningful part of Norse cultural heritage.
