Handmade Viking Mjolnir Pendant in Pewter
This handmade Viking Mjolnir pendant is inspired by Thor’s hammer pendants found in the Viking Age, particularly examples dating from the 9th–12th centuries. The design reflects the distinctive forms of historical Norse amulets while being made as a modern piece of historically inspired jewellery.
Each pendant is produced using the lost-wax casting technique. A model is prepared in wax before the design is cast in pewter and finished and polished by hand. The pendant is paired with a handmade glass bead and a cord.
In Norse mythology, Mjolnir, the hammer of Thor, was associated with the god of thunder and protection. Thor was regarded as a protector of both gods and people, and the hammer became one of the best-known symbols associated with Norse tradition.
