Hand-carved Norse World Serpent pendant inspired by Viking Age bronze amulets*
This Jormungandr pendant is inspired by Viking Age bronze serpent amulets, where intertwined creatures symbolized the forces that shape the world. Jormungandr, the Midgard Serpent, encircles the world in Norse mythology and represents balance, endurance, and the unseen tension between chaos and order.
*Original Bronze piece can be seen on the 2nd photo to this lot.
The design follows early medieval Scandinavian animal ornamentation, with flowing curves and carved spiral forms echoing archaeological serpent motifs. Each pendant is carved by hand from natural material, giving the surface depth and quiet character. No two pieces are identical.
Available in natural bone or black buffalo horn, the pendant feels solid yet smooth in the hand. The dark version carries a deep, polished sheen, while the bone version highlights organic tone and grain.
This piece suits everyday wear, ritual use, or a personal connection to Norse mythology and historical symbolism.
