About the Design

Ravens are recurring figures in Scandinavian mythological and artistic traditions and appear in both archaeological and literary sources. The stylised skull form presented here is a modern interpretation rather than a direct historical reproduction.

The Helm of Awe (Ægishjálmur), engraved on the upper section, is known from Icelandic manuscripts of the early modern period and is generally interpreted as a protective symbol. The carved lines are darkened to enhance contrast while preserving the natural surface of the antler. Variations in tone and grain are inherent to the material and make each pendant distinct.
