This piece follows the form of the small bronze figure found at Ribe, Denmark, dated to the 8th century. It is usually identified as a depiction of Odin.

The figure has a compact, upright shape with a stylised face and a horned or wing-like headdress. These upper elements are often linked to Odin’s ravens, which sets this design apart from more common hammer pendants.

Cast in brass and finished by hand, the surface has slight marks and unevenness from the process. The pendant is small, solid, and sits flat when worn.

Surface marks and minor variations are part of the hand-finishing process.

About the Design
Based on an original find from Ribe, one of the earliest Viking Age trading centres. Despite being sometimes grouped with Mjolnir types, this figure is associated with Odin in archaeological interpretation.
