About the Design

The Helm of Awe (Ægishjálmur) is known from Icelandic magical manuscripts of the early modern period and is commonly interpreted as a symbol of protection. The Algiz rune, part of the Elder Futhark runic system, appears in early Northern European inscriptions and is often associated with protection or defence in later interpretations.

This pendant presents both symbols in a balanced circular format, carved directly into natural antler. The surface retains the organic grain and tone of the material, resulting in slight variations between pieces while maintaining consistent size and proportion.
