Description
This comb is shaped and polished from natural buffalo horn using traditional hand-finishing methods. The curved form sits comfortably in the hand, while the fine teeth are designed for controlled beard grooming without excessive pulling.
A carved Triquetra motif is worked into the surface, drawing from traditional Celtic knotwork patterns. The decoration is kept subtle so the natural material remains the main visual element.
Buffalo horn develops a smooth feel with use and produces less static than many synthetic combs. Because the material is natural, each comb differs slightly in colour and grain pattern, ranging from deep black to warm brown tones.
Each comb is made and finished by hand; small differences in carving and horn pattern are part of the process.
About the Design
The Triquetra is a long-standing knot motif found in Celtic manuscript art, stone carving, and metalwork. Its interwoven structure became especially common in Insular decorative traditions during the early medieval period.
Care Instructions
Natural horn should be kept away from excessive heat and prolonged soaking.
To maintain the comb:
- Avoid leaving it in direct sunlight or near heaters
- Wipe clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth
- Occasionally apply a small amount of natural oil to maintain surface condition
- Do not store while wet
